Our Winemaker, Greg Bjornstad, believes that care taken in the vineyard creates a beautiful wine in the bottle. His hands-on approach during the growing season is balanced by a philosophy of allowing the true characteristics of the terroir to express themselves with minimal intervention during winemaking.
After the berries are hand-sorted at the winery, native yeasts are allowed to begin the fermentation process. The wines are aged using 50% new French oak barrels so that the wines are not overwhelmed by the influence of the wood. Racking only occurs twice before the wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve the distinct characteristics of our Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
